Stephen Palmer

Stephen Palmer is a fully accredited CBT therapist based in Canterbury with over 23 years experience in working for the NHS in all aspects of adult mental health. The last four years working in GP surgeries using CBT with mild to moderate psychological problems as part of IAPT ( Improving access to Psychological Services). Stephen has also spent many years working in Secondary Services with severe and enduring mental health problems such as Schizophrenia and Bi-PolarDisorder. He is committed to providing CBT therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment and has experience with both 1:1 and group therapy.

Stephen works with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. CBT enables you to develop your own " toolkit" to overcome your emotional difficulties and to develop new and more helpful ways of thinking and behaving.
The main focus of the way Stephen works is firmly based within a CBT Therapy framework but he also draws on personal interests and post qualification training in Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy, to best meet the needs of the individual.
